2011 CHSA Annual Conference Call for Presentations
The California Head Start Association invites you to submit a proposal to present at the 2011 Annual Conference in San Francisco, California. The theme is Head Start: Building Foundations for Life. The event will be held at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis 55 Fourth Street, San Francisco, CA 94103.
Parent Conference – February 7 & 8, 2011
Our Parent Conference provides a unique opportunity to gather parent leaders and family & support staff for two days of learning and engagement. The event offers a wide range of sessions and workshops just for parents and the staff that work closely to support them.
Education Conference- February 9-11, 2011
CHSA’s Annual Education Conference is designed to advance the knowledge and skills of those involved in the education of children age zero to five. This conference provides an opportunity to enhance developmentally appropriate practices, learn critical new skills, and broaden awareness to enable Head Start children and their families to thrive.

Important Information
- All proposals must be submitted on the online form.(URL) We will not be accepting emailed, faxed or ground mailed proposals.
- Workshop sessions will be 90 minutes in length.

Workshop Proposals are due by November 12, 2010.
- We will not be providing laptops or audio. We will have an LCD Projector & Screen.
- Presentations are limited to a maximum of three speakers.
- Honorarium and Expenses: As a non-profit educational association, CHSA does not award workshop presenters a honorarium. Speakers must also cover their own travel, parking and printing expenses.
- One complimentary full conference registration is provided to the lead presenter of the workshop for the conference where they are presenting. Co-presenters wishing to attend the full conference will be required to register and pay applicable registration fees.
- Selling of Materials: Presenters representing vendors or consulting firms are asked not to sell or market items within the training session. However, presenters may provide contact information to attendees.
- Handouts are the responsibility of the presenter to reproduce. A maximum occupancy number for your workshop room will be given. We ask that you decide what an appropriate amount to bring with you is. There will be times when attendees will outnumber your materials and we ask that you explain to attendees that all materials will be posted on the CHSA website after the event.

You will be contacted with either an acceptance letter or denial letter on or before November 24, 2010. Once notification is received, selected presenters will be required to confirm their participation.
